2022
ANNUAL REPORT

OUR IMPACT CONTINUES

RATL continues to grow and expand in service to families experiencing homelessness throughout Atlanta. From hosting Women’s Fellowship, to planning kids’ programs, to gathering with families, we are fueled by the belief that being with is more transformative than doing for. Keep reading to see the impact that RATL made in 2022.

From our Executive Director

RATL was founded on the value of relationships. We still believe building strong relationships with families experiencing homelessness is one of the best ways to serve them. In being with families, we acknowledge their value, seek their good, and learn how to best meet their needs. As we have grown over the years, we continue to put people, to put relationships, at the heart of everything we do.

I can’t assume this new role without honoring the person who began it all, Jim Ellison. Jim has served faithfully since the vision he had for RATL began, and we wouldn’t be what we are today without him. Jim has assumed the role of RATL Board Chair, and we are excited to continue leading this organization together.

RATL KIDS’ PROGRAMS

After School Program

2022 was a year full of growth. We now serve up to 60 students daily in our After School Program across two locations! We’ve also been expanding our extracurricular activities.

In 2022, RATL:

  • Partnered with Fly on a Wall to host the first-ever RATL dance recital along with weekly dance classes

  • Hosted its first Christmas play through a newly-launched Theater Arts Program

  • Launched a Mental Health Program, providing students with weekly mental health support groups

SUMMER CAMPS

Summer Camp was a huge hit! The staff and students enjoyed a summer full of activities, growth, and play. The kiddos got to experience more field trips than ever. RATL hosted 12 field trips including Zoo Atlanta, Georgia Aquarium, Children's Museum of Atlanta, Delta Flight Museum, Fernbank Museum of Natural History, and more! Special thanks to Camp Lighthouse for partnering with RATL to provide students with an overnight camp experience for 3 days in July.

Family Programs

Women’s Events

In 2022, RATL hosted weekly Women’s Fellowship Programs– a time for ladies who are currently residing in the shelter to come together for worship and activities. RATL provides childcare during each meeting so women can take time to focus on themselves, connect with one another, and grow in their personal relationships with Christ.

“Women show up [to our Women’s Programs] and are always willing to listen, speak and share amongst one another with love…I have shown up to help and support them and they have helped and supported me as well.”

  • Catreece, RATL Women’s Program Director

FAMILY EVENTS

Family Events strive to be a space for RATL families to come together and enjoy activities such as a special dinner, bonfire, or ice cream social! RATL Family Events also provide an opportunity for RATL Staff to connect and invest in moms and their children. Our hope is that this environment would be a safe and fun space for families to fellowship.

RATL hosted 15 Family Events in 2022
